This is particularly true in Spain and Turkey where, within reason, our builders can design and build what you want where you want it to your own individual design, or as an adaptation of an existing villa model.

| | Size of plot varies from a few hundred metres to 20,000m2 (5 acres) or more. Some old fincas and farmhouses have substantial agricultural land attached like orange groves or almond orchards. Often planning permission can be obtained to build on parts of these and the farmhouses themselves can be converted or reformed to provide the house of your dreams. Usually, you buy a plot with existing planning consent although, as in the UK, specific approval for your own particular design within that plot often has to be sought.

As an example, in the southern Costa Blanca, to build a brand new, 2-bed, 2-bath detached house (including plot and all services) on an average plot size of say 5,000m2 ( 1 1/4 acres), would typically cost around 200,000 Euros ( c. 135,000 Pounds). Others can be more expensive:

| Plots can be divided up. Some may already have a small dwelling on, which could be converted to provide an additional house, once given the suitable planning permissions (although most already have building licences in place).
Building plots become available all the time as Planning Permission is obtained. Often the builders are able to help you obtain the appropriate Licences for any Commercial activity too.
